Changing Diabetes Bus in Almere
Hello! My name is Daniëlle Blom. I’m 18 years old and I am a member of the Novo Nordisk Youth Panel in the Netherlands.

The Changing Diabetes Bus stopped today in Almere, on the information market of the Dutch Diabetes Association (DVN). At the arrival, you couldn’t miss the bus.

I had already seen it on various occasions but I couldn’t miss it when entering the market. The bus was standing right in front of the school where the information market was taking place; the visitors couldn’t avoid entering to support the ‘Unite for Diabetes’ campaign. At the information market, there was a ‘Changing Diabetes’ stand, to attract people, who wouldn’t have signed yet the petition for a UN Resolution on Diabetes, towards the bus. Luckily, many people had already visited the bus and many signatures had been gathered.

Together with Mariël, another Novo Nordisk Youth Panellist, we answered from time to time questions which visitors addressed us. We were approached by a couple of young people who had been recently diagnosed with diabetes and who wanted to ask us some questions.

Almost all visitors had signed the petition for a UN Resolution. In addition, the Changing Diabetes Bus attracted the attention of many curious people, such as bikers passing by and people who attended the sport club nearby. We seized this opportunity and asked them to have a look inside the bus and to sign the petition.

In total, we collected more than 300 signatures that day.
