After Calgary came the big head office bus event on Thursday 31 May 2007.
Some of the staff helped to prepare for the Changing Diabetes Bus to arrive. They gave every staff member a Changing Diabetes whistle, minibus and post card, and made sure everyone was excited to see the bus.
The driver and I set up the bus, and all of the staff at Novo Nordisk Canada’s head office came to see the bus.
Vince Lamanna and I gave the opening remarks again, and then Vince invited everyone to blow their whistles as loud as possible to let everyone know that the Novo Nordisk Changing Diabetes Bus was in town.
Around 12:30 pm the employees who’d organized the company event had a diabetes nurse educator come in and teach the employees about proper nutrition, and diabetes prevention. She did a great presentation, she really captivated the audience, and I think everyone learned something about nutrition that afternoon.
